Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to this week …

Scott Tipton, co-owner, Blastoff Comics, North Hollywood, Calif.
Walt Disney: Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck — “The Universal Solvent”, The Don Rosa Library Vol. 6 HC, Fantagraphics. These gorgeous collections of Don Rosa’s Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck comics continue!
—
G.I. Joe: Revolution #1, IDW Publishing. Following up on IDW’s big companywide crossover, this new start to G.I. Joe is the most fun the title has been in a long time. Highly recommended.
—
The Avengers Epic Collection: Once An Avenger TPB, Marvel. The rise of Cap’s Kooky Quartet! Classic Avengers greatness from Stan Lee, Roy Thomas and Don Heck.
—
Batman Animated Series Batwing, DC Collectibles. This thing is enormous and tremendously impractical. And it will be mine. (Note from Dan: I’ve seen this thing up close. It’s BIG.)
—
Dan Greenfield, editor, 13th Dimension
Star Trek: Waypoint #2, IDW. I have historically run hot and cold on Trek comics. But this? This? This issue of the anthology miniseries includes an homage to the Gold Key series of yore, by Dayton Ward, Kevin Dilmore and Gordon Purcell. Plus, it has a back-up starring the only woman redshirt to die on the Original Series: Yeoman Leslie Thompson — by Sam Maggs and Rachael Stott. How can you call yourself a Trek fan and not pick this up?
—
Superman: Coming of the Supermen, DC. This is the hardcover collection of Neal Adams’ boisterous 6-issue miniseries. I dug this so much, I reviewed it in full this week. Check it out here.
—
Black Hammer #5, Dark Horse. This issue focuses on Adam Strange — oops, I mean Colonel Weird. Cool series. If you dig Golden and Silver Age comics, you’ll dig this. By Jeff Lemire, Dean Ormston and Dave Stewart.
—
Ether #1, Dark Horse. This is Matt Kindt’s latest, with David Rubin on art. Wanna know what it’s about? Click here.
Nightwing #9, DC. It was always fun when Superman teamed up with Robin, so it’s cool to see the two of them together again for the first time in this issue by Tim Seeley and Marcio Takara.
—
Superman #11, DC. What I just said about Superman and Robin? Well, then check this out, by Peter Tomasi, Patrick Gleason and Mick Gray.

Super Weird Heroes HC, Yoe Books/IDW. We just wrapped up 13 DAYS OF SUPER WEIRD HEROES. That’s how much I love this book. Click here for a ginormous preview of what you’re in for. Miss. It. Not.
