HOLY PLUSH! Mego’s SUPER SOFTIES Finally Get the Love They Deserve

An EXCLUSIVE SNEAK PEEK at the new Toy-Ventures #11…

Brian Heiler’s Toy-Ventures magazine never fails to inform and entertain, and the upcoming Issue #11 has some cool stuff in store. Just dig the cover above.

Meanwhile, we’ve also got an EXCLUSIVE SNEAK PEEK for you — an bunch of teases from the issue’s in-depth feature on Mego Super Softies, a spinoff from the World’s Greatest Super-Heroes line and a notable flop.

Dig it:

“I got the Super Softie talking Spider-Man for my fifth birthday, and I still have him, so this article is very personal,” said Brian, Toy-Ventures’ publisher, who added, “I think the Super Softies were ahead of their time, and I’m excited to do this spotlight.”

The article quotes former Mego employees, talks about Mego’s owning a company known mainly for carnival plush and speaks to some passionate collectors of this niche line, Brian added.

Toy-Ventures #11 will be available the first week of October. It features a main story on Tonka Steel Monsters, with a cover by 13th Dimension contributor Chris Franklin. Look for it at participating comics shops or via toyventuresmag.com.

  1. My wife and I were in an antique shop about five years ago when she saw one in a display case. She called me over and I couldn’t see the price tag. We called an attendant over to open up the case. The tag said $55.00 and I told the attendant excitedly “I’LL TAKE IT‼️” As we walked to the counter I pulled the talk string and it worked perfectly! The attendant jumped because he had no idea that it talked. My wife couldn’t understand my excitement until I told her to look up prices for it and she was flabbergasted! It now holds a special spot in my BatManCave.
