Hey, You! Send Us Your Fave Childhood HALLOWEEN Pics!

Ben Cooper? Homemade outfit? We wanna see ’em!

Me, 1973, Ocean Township, N.J.

It’s only about six weeks to Halloween — six weeks! — so we’re already looking ahead to one of the grooviest months on the calendar.

We always have a ton of Halloween coverage but this year we’d like to invite you readers to play along: Send us your favorite childhood Halloween costume picture!

It can be you in a Ben Cooper outfit, or a homemade suit, whatever fits the bill. Just please keep it to comics characters and ’50s-’80s pop-culture franchises like Star Trek, Planet of the Apes, Star Wars and the like.

Future podcaster extraordinaire Rob Kelly. (And, no, not all the costumes need to be Batman!)

We’ll pick our favorite 13 and run them as a gallery during October. And who knows — if we get enough, maybe we’ll do more than one!

(By the way, a tip of the mask to Jason Young, who included a gallery of such pix in his wonderful, sold-out book An Old School Halloween. Thanks for the idea, Jason!)

Anyway, email yours to The13thD@gmail.com by Oct. 1. Include your name, age at the time, the year the photo was taken and the place. Also include three or four sentences that set the scene. The higher the resolution for the photo the better, though I know these pix are going to be decades old.

Trick or treat, kids!
