Hell, you may know this but I certainly didn’t; I don’t even think there was a press release:
The 1975 classic Son of Origins of Marvel Comics has been re-released for its 50th anniversary — and it’s been out for almost a year, from Simon & Schuster’s Gallery 13 imprint.

— The 256-page trade paperback lists for $21.99 and has been out since October 2025. Go figure. And we pay rapt attention to these things.
— But there is some actual new news — the follow-up, 1976’s Bring on the Bad Guys!, will be out next month for its 50th anniversary. Link below!
— You may recall that in 2024, Gallery 13 put out two new editions of the initial 1974 Origins of Marvel Comics. The deluxe version addressed the still controversial Stan Lee byline on the cover and how it ignored the contributions of Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and others.

I knew that investment of $5.95 (and subsequent investments of $6.95) were sound back in 1974 (and 1975). I’ve donated nearly 200 books of mine over the last five years or so, but these three (Origins…, Son… Bring On…) will always be keepers.

Why did you fail to mention that this book is packed with LIES? Stan Lee is LYING to erase Jack Kirby and the true creators of Marvel by taking all the credit for himself. This is SHAMEFUL behavior, and you are enabling it. How is this JOURNALISM when you fail to explain that this book is pack of lies?

So can you add an article about how the Origins books are utter lies and how republishing them is re-victimizing Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, etc. by reinforcing the credit-stealing lies of trained propagandist Stan Lee?

I always took Dan’s one-word response of “ok” as his way of defusing a thread that “could” deviate from the fun nature of this site. I respect that because he’s the owner/editor of this site and he’s invited us to join in the discussion. (I’ve fallen under that hammer myself.) At least that’s how I read it.

If it had only the reprints of the mentioned comics it would have some value. Now unfortunately it’s worthless. No wonder there is no fanfare.
