With virtually no fanfare…

Hell, you may know this but I certainly didn’t; I don’t even think there was a press release:
The 1975 classic Son of Origins of Marvel Comics has been re-released for its 50th anniversary — and it’s been out for almost a year, from Simon & Schuster’s Gallery 13 imprint.
Dig the official description:

SON OF ORIGINS OF MARVEL COMICS
Just in time for its 50th anniversary, this is the landmark follow-up to the hit classic Origins of Marvel Comics.
Originally published in 1975, Son of Origins of Marvel Comics features the first appearances of characters who have dominated the pantheon of Marvel’s modern storytelling mythology—X-Men, Iron Man, the Avengers, Daredevil, Nick Fury, the Watcher, and the Silver Surfer—all hand-picked and introduced by the one and only Stan Lee, and serving as an essential showcase for writers and artists such as Stan himself, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, John Romita, and Marie Severin.
Whether viewed as a historical artifact that launched an industry of presenting Marvel Comics to a broad audience of fans or a collection of the best in Silver Age comics by many of the greatest creators to ever put pencil to paper, Son of Origins of Marvel Comics highlights both the lasting greatness of these iconic characters as well as the monumental contributions of the talented creators who launched an entire storytelling universe.

Buncha thoughts:

— The 256-page trade paperback lists for $21.99 and has been out since October 2025. Go figure. And we pay rapt attention to these things.
— But there is some actual new news — the follow-up, 1976’s Bring on the Bad Guys!, will be out next month for its 50th anniversary. Link below!
— You may recall that in 2024, Gallery 13 put out two new editions of the initial 1974 Origins of Marvel Comics. The deluxe version addressed the still controversial Stan Lee byline on the cover and how it ignored the contributions of Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and others.
