Hey, Check Out WALT SIMONSON’s Unexpected NEW HISTORY OF THE DC UNIVERSE Cover

Uncle Walt does the Justice League…

When DC Comics in April solicited July’s New History of the DC Universe #2 in April, there was no mention of a variant cover by Walt Simonson.

But hey, guess what: Such a thing has popped up on Lunar Distribution’s website — a 1:25 incentive cover by one of comics’ most beloved illustrators, starring the original (retconned) Justice League:

Lists for $6.99 but as an incentive, will go for much higher.

Not just that, we also have Chris Samnee’s main cover, now with trade dress:

DC has still yet to reveal the Issue #2 variant by Ryan Sook, the issue’s sketch cover, as well as various variants for #3 and #4. But those will come soon enough. (UPDATED: Here’s Sook’s Issue #2 variant!)

Dig it.

  1. Seems a bit sedate for a Walt Simonson composition… Usually there’s at least one figure busting out of the page… did someone de-caff his coffee that day?
