Frank Miller’s DAREDEVIL #181 Gets FACSIMILE EDITION Reprint

EXCLUSIVE: An absolute classic is headed back to the racks…

Over the last two days, we’ve revealed two of three Facsimile Editions that Marvel’s releasing in September — Marvel Spotlight #12, featuring Son of Satan (click here) and Spider-Woman #1 (click here).

These are the wonderfully accurate reprints that include ads, letter columns and so forth for a fraction of what an original copy would cost you in the back issue market.

The first two we announced are cool enough. But the third is a landmark in the Mighty Marvel Manner — Frank Miller and Klaus Janson’s Daredevil #181 from 1982, featuring the (spoiler alert) death of Elektra.

Check out the official solicitation blurb, due to be officially released later this week by Marvel:

DAREDEVIL #181 FACSIMILE EDITION

WRITTEN BY FRANK MILLER

PENCILED BY FRANK MILLER

COVER BY FRANK MILLER

Visionary writer and artist Frank Miller forever changed the world of the Man Without Fear — and few issues in his celebrated run had the same impact as this one! The psychotic Bullseye is determined to escape from jail and visit vengeance on the man who put him there — Daredevil! But when he finds a way to get free, there’s something he must deal with first — winning back his position as the Kingpin’s number one assassin. And to do that, he has to get rid of Wilson Fisk’s deadly new killer for hire — Elektra, the woman Matt loves! Brace yourself for two brutal life-and-death showdowns as only Frank Miller and Klaus Janson can draw them! It’s one of the all-time great Marvel comic books, boldly re-presented in its original form, ads and all! Reprinting DAREDEVIL (1964) #181.

The exact date and price will be announced when Marvel’s full solicitations are released but figure on the issue to cost about 4 or 5 bucks.

Such. A. Deal.

  1. This issue announced to me that the rules had changed in comics. I’d seen a few of Miller’s earlier Daredevil issues, and knew they were different, but this one was something else again. Of course, (spoiler) Elektra wouldn’t stay dead, but the way Bullseye dispatched her was brutal and shocking to me.
