Dig This EXCLUSIVE UP-CLOSE LOOK at NECA’s BEN COOPER SUPERMAN Action Figure

Multiple angles — including the packaging!

Alright, welcome to the stretch drive to Halloween — and boy do we have a doozy of a series for you: the EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK at each of NECA’s upcoming Mego-style Ben Cooper Costumed Kids DC Comics action figures.

That’s right. Every day through Halloween, we’ll show you Superman (below), Batman, Wonder Woman, Batgirl and the Joker.

Not just that, we’ve got a deep-dive interview with NECA VP & General Manager of Product Development Randy Falk, who gives you the lowdown on the line so far — and what’s to come. (Click here. It’ll make your day.)

The DC heroes wave — aka Wave 5 — is expected to be up for pre-order in late November or December for a spring 2025 release. Each figure will list for $19.99.

OK, no more waiting, let’s kick this thing off with your EXCLUSIVE UP-CLOSE LOOK at the Man of Steel — SUPERMAN:

A few thoughts:

— I am telling you right now, I am buying all five of these and they will get a special placement of pride in my collection. I absolutely love what NECA is doing here and am along for the ride should we see Planet of the Apes and Star Trek too. (Marvel, as we know, is highly unlikely because of Hasbro’s iron grip on the master toy license, but who knows? Mego has a line coming.)

— When I was a kid, I never understood the need for the Superman mask, so when I put on my Man of Steel play suit (the cloth one with the “don’t try to fly” warning on it), I just simply went mask free. But as a costume-accurate action figure, it’s perfect.

— The pillowcase is a master stroke. I myself had an orange, masked pumpkin-head bucket but I would have killed for Super Friends sheets.

  1. They could do a really creepy horror film with silent killers wearing those costumes

  2. This is such a great line! I know that licensing is always an issue but after Batman and Superman (my Superman came with just a red eye mask) if NECA can do an Evel Knievel and Six Million Dollar Man, all of my Halloween costumes would be covered.

  3. It would be nice if they would make enough to fill the demand for once.

  4. In theory it’s possible to do a Marvel based Ben Cooper line because it’s a dress up character, it’s 5.5″ tall , it’s the costume not a character.

Marvel is notorious for licensing whatever they can for money. If DC can do it, you bet your ars Marvel is totally in.
It’s just a matter of time.

    • It’s not Marvel. It’s Hasbro. The have an iron grip on the master toy license, so it makes things much more complicated. Not an easy thing to navigate, at all.

  5. These are indeed neat, but I do wonder what the kids faces look like under the masks…the eyes look very large, almost cartoonish.
Maybe it’s like that Twilight Zone episode, where all those wearing masks end up looking like the mask they were wearing (AAGH!).
