Now, for our regular EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT, I could have gone a few different ways but it occurred to me that we’ve never really featured Colorforms at the site, so I’ve put together a gallery of 13 classic sets.

I was inspired by this two-page spread in the mag:

I had a number of sets when I was a kid, with Batman (naturally) my favorite. So, I’m kicking off our own gallery with that set. (And please forgive the quality of some of these pix. Good, clean images are surprisingly hard to find on the web.)

  2. No joke, I think one of my best Christmases as a kid was getting that Spider-Man, Hulk and Captain America Colorform set! I think that was even the first time I saw the Abomination as a character!

  3. I had the Spidey one and the Superadventure one until about 10 years ago, now I wish I hadn’t sold them.

  4. Colorforms were one of my favorite all-time toys! I had so many sets, but I did have the small and the larger red Batman set! The bigger one also included The Riddler as a villain and had a much bigger cityscape!

  5. I didn’t have any superhero sets but did PEANUTS and POPEYE colorforms.
