DC Sets Dates For ALL NINE of the Next Wave of SUPER POWERS VARIANT COVERS

EXCLUSIVE: From March through September!

On Thursday, we EXCLUSIVELY revealed the complete lineup of nine characters who will be getting Super Powers variant covers attached to Facsimile Editions in the coming months.

What we didn’t have was all the dates. Now, we do.

Some of these have been solicited already (check the links below), and some haven’t. But for those that haven’t, click here for what we know so far about their Facsimiles.

Oh, and as a bonus, here’s your FIRST LOOK at Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and Alex Saviuk’s Batgirl wraparound cover, which I’m especially looking forward to:

The dates:

John Constantine: Saga of the Swamp Thing #37 Facsimile Edition — March 12

Batgirl: The Batman Adventures #12 Facsimile Edition — March 12

Superman of Earth-2: Crisis on Infinite Earths #12 Facsimile Edition — March 19

Neal Adams’ “Kryptonite Nevermore!” Superman: Superman #233 Facsimile Edition — April 9

Manchester Black: Action Comics #775 Facsimile Edition — June 4

Robin (Damian Wayne): Batman #655 Facsimile Edition — July 16

Batman (Dick Grayson): Detective Comics #880 Facsimile Edition — August 6

Harley Quinn: Batman: Harley Quinn #1 Facsimile Edition — August 13

Red Hood: Batman #635 Facsimile Edition — September 3

I love that this is a thing. Someone commented the other day that they didn’t understand the idea of variant covers for Facsimile Editions — that they defeat the purpose of the Facsimile to begin with. And, generally speaking, I agree, unless it’s a special take, like Dan Mora’s David Corenswet-ish Action Comics #1 Facsimile coming in April.

But making these Super Powers covers a part of this line is brilliant double-marketing with built-in overlap. I’m all for it and I hope this continues for a good, long time. There’s so much potential.

  1. If we could get Mego variant covers, then I’d really be all in !

  2. As long as I can get the regular facsimile, I’m good. I don’t buy any variants.
