UPDATED 7/31/26: DC has added a seventh Facsimile Edition for October, so the headline has been changed to reflect that. Right on. — Dan

DC in October will have six Facsimile Editions headed your way, including two all-time classics and two surprises. Three deserve their own articles and you can find them here, here and here.
Not just that, DC is bringing back the Dollar Comic concept and you can read about that here.
Below you’ll find the remaining three — 1993’s Adventures of Superman #501, 2000’s Harley Quinn #1, and 1986’s Watchmen #2.

Buncha thoughts:

— With the Reign of the Superboys storyline wrapping up, Adventures of Superman #501 makes sense. I just would have thought it’d come sooner. No matter. If you’re a Triangle Era devotee, this is definitely for you.
— Makes me wonder whether the other Reign of the Supermen solo kickoff issues — Superman #78, Action Comics #687 and Superman: The Man of Steel #22 — will get the same treatment. I am surprised this isn’t getting the “S” shield variant.
— I’m amazed we haven’t gotten Harley Quinn #1 until now.
— Reminder: All 12 issues of Watchmen are being reprinted monthly for a year.

— Obligatory Price Comparison #1: It’s not hard to find an original Adventures of Superman #501 for cheap. That said, an unslabbed copy in solid shape did recently sell on eBay for $15.
— Obligatory Price Comparison #2: An unslabbed, NM- original Harley Quinn #1 went for 50 smackers.
— Obligatory Price Comparison #3: You’re more likely to find Watchmen issues as a set, but an unslabbed, high-grade original Issue #2 recently sold for $24.
— As I said up top, there’s plenty more where that came from, so dig the links below!

Some of the best things DC has going on right now are their facsimile comics.
July 25, 2026
I am a bit surprised they are not releasing one of the Silver Age Clayface stories from Detective Comics or Batman to tie into the Clayface movie.
July 25, 2026
They did the Golden Age Clayface origin issue when the movie was announced. Premature, but there’s your tie-in.

Thanks, missed that one, was it a Batman issue? I’m thinking of a Detective book from my childhood that I would love to give out at Halloween.
July 27, 2026
It was Detective Comics #40, which I believe was Basil Karlo (which fits as a Golden Age name–it’s an obvious play on “Boris Karloff”).
July 25, 2026
Not enough copies of AOS 501 clogging 50¢ bins. Safe bet the other Reign of the Supermen kickoff books will get facsimiles with a new Steel ongoing coming.

My rando thoughts:
By October, Marvel will be/have scheduled 158 facsimile issues. DC will be well ahead at 188 published/scheduled.
I’m disappointed we’re not getting Limited Collectors’ Edition C-32: Ghosts, since we got C-23 House of Mystery last year.
The Batman facsimile catalog is getting absurdly large, with the following issues having been republished: #1, 5, 9, 1, 47, 127, 156, 181, 227, 232, 237, 244, 251, 357, 404-407, 423, 428 (faux version), 497 (pending), 608-619, 635, 655, and 676. And that’s not even all the other bat-adjacent issues, or Detective. I mean, if we’re going this deep, I’d appreciate if DC would republish the entire run of “Ten Nights of the Beast” and/or the entirety of “A Death in the Family.”
Superman is still woefully under-represented, but adding on Adventures of Superman #501 helps–although Clark doesn’t even appear in that issue.
Anyway, my poor wallet.

My only real complains with facsimiles is not enough Golden Age DC or Silver Age Marvel. I’d also like to see no more Modern/post 1980 or full series ones. IMHO It’s pointless to reprint things that have not only been collected but are also readily available at close to the same price.
