Buncha thoughts:

— DC’s October solicitations were released amid the craziness of San Diego Comic-Con, so this evidently fell through the cracks last week. It was quietly added to the Lunar Distribution website. The foil cover will run $6.99, while the logo sketch edition will be $4.99.

— I love saying when I called something. I’m self-centered like that. Here’s what I wrote in February’s 13 DC COMICS FACSIMILE EDITIONS WE’D LIKE TO SEE — 2026 EDITION:

Detective Comics #298. The Clayface movie is due in September, so I’ll be shocked if this one doesn’t happen. I mean, we’ve already gotten the first appearance of the original Clayface. (By Bill Finger, Sheldon Moldoff and Charles Paris, with a Moldoff cover, 1961.)

— The movie is now due October 23, so the Facsimile will hit that week. Because it’s a horror flick, they moved the opening to take advantage of the Halloween season.

— Tip of the cowl to reader “ookerdookers” for pointing out the addition.

Obligatory Price Comparison: An unslabbed, original copy in very good condition recently sold on eBay for about $620.

  1. If we’re doing facsimiles of expensive Batman comics with Neal Adams covers, we need Batman issues 222 and 241 as well.
