Starting in May…

Marvel made the announcement and will kick things off with Issue #1 in May. The two publishers will alternate, with Marvel also doing #3 and DC doing #2 and #4.

Several thoughts:

— If you’ve never read this, you’re in for a treat: It’s spectacular.

— This only gives us more hope we’ll eventually see the Batman/Hulk treasury and X-Men/New Teen Titans.

— Beyond this, there’s a ton of Facsimile news for May. Links below!

Obligatory Price Comparison: An unslabbed, NM- original recently sold on eBay for $26. Typically, though, the series is sold in sets. One recently went for $115, though you can also find them for less.

  2. I was waiting for 13th Dimension to sound off on this!

I knew it was only a matter of time before this was back in print. New collected editions will probably be announced by the end of the year.

  3. I confess, this is a crossover I’ve never read. The price is decent and I must say, that cover looks great and very compelling. So, I shall give it a look!

  4. As someone who owns a Perez autographed copy of the trade: hell yeah I still intend to buy these.

Does anyone else view this story as the tail end of the post Crisis era? This may be the last major story with Morrison’s JLA lineup and Busiek’s post Onslaught Avengers. Starting around 2002, comics started to get very different and you wouldn’t see a story of this style again.
