Doctor Doom has long sought to rule the world, and with the Parasite’s help, Project Omega might very well lay the Earth at his feet! Can the reunited Superman and Spider-Man uncover the Latverian monarch’s plan before the planet pays the price? Maybe, with a little help from Wonder Woman and the Incredible Hulk!

Several thoughts:

— So a foil variant for Superman vs. Spider-Man but not Superman and Spider-Man. And no sketch covers for either. That’s as of now. DC in the past has added foil and sketch covers after solicitations go out and we’ll be keeping an eye out for that.

— Don’t forget that these will go in tandem with two new DC/Marvel crossovers: Superman/Spider-Man #1 in March and Spider-Man/Superman #1 in April.

— DC has five other Facsimiles coming in January and Marvel has three. Links below!

— Obligatory Price Comparisons: A NM original Superman vs. Spider-Man recently sold on eBay for about $400. An original Superman and Spider-Man in OK shape went for about $40.

  1. Where did the solicit say there was a foil ?

    • I’m gonna go out on a limb and say it is because of the (2) different prices listed. $24.99 vs $19.99. I’m in for (5) copies of the original!

  2. Gak. Aren’t the treasury facsimiles normally $14.99?

(Here I’m reminding myself that there are only so many treasury facsimilies left to reprint, so maybe we’ll get through the non-licensed, non-Rudolph C-volumes in a year or two and the wallet pain will end.)

    • 96 pages is pretty chunky. It could be the longest Treasury reprinted so far?

    • In theory, at least, there’s a Justice League story which was written and at least partially drawn as a Treasury but then shelved, and not published for several years until it was repurposed as three issues of JLA (#210-212).

I live in hope that DC might realise this and decide to reprint it in the originally-intended format.

      • The story for Action Comics #500 , “The Life Story of Superman” was also originally intended to be a treasury comic, so I’d love to see that one get the proper treatment as well.

  3. For “vs”, $20 would closer replicate the original cover price than $19.99 😀 .
