HOT PICKS! On Sale This Week!
Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to… — Dan Greenfield, editor, 13th Dimension Mad — Free Comic Book Day 2024, DC. Don’t forget that May 4 is Free Comic Book Day, folks — and our pal Kerry Callen’s got the cover for this Mad special issue! — Gatchaman #0 — Free Comic Book Day 2024, Mad Cave Studios. I am really, really looking forward to this series and its offshoots. There’s also an Alex Toth model sheet variant! — The Manga Guide to Japanese Food, Tuttle Publishing. I’m going to Japan later this year, so this is right in my wheelhouse. Plus, I’ve been reading DC/Kodansha’s Superman vs. Meshi and it is HILARIOUS! Highly recommended! — Scott Tipton, columnist, 13th Dimension Absolute Justice League: The World’s Greatest Super-Heroes by Alex Ross and Paul Dini, DC. These giant-size specials are some of my favorite DC work of the period. — Get Fury #1, Marvel. Garth Ennis is a perfect fit for a period Nick Fury/Punisher crossover. Dan adds: All of Ennis’ Fury and Punisher Cold War/Vietnam stories have been tremendous. This has great potential. — Thunderbolts Epic Collection Vol. 2: Wanted Dead or Alive, Marvel. Busiek and Bagley’s Thunderbolts is hands down the most underrated comic of the...
