CAPTAIN AMERICA: The Original NOMAD Saga to Get EPIC COLLECTION

Plus, Jack Kirby’s Madbomb!

The very first Captain America comics I read as a kid were the Nomad issues. What a time to jump on!

So it’s very cool — for me and for you, I’m sure — that the Bronze Age saga is being collected in a 2024 Marvel Epic Collection.

Details are scarce — it’s not even on Amazon yet — but check out the basics, thanks to the fine folks at the Epic Marvel Podcast:

CAPTAIN AMERICA EPIC COLLECTION: The Man Who Sold the United States

Collecting:

— Captain America (1968) #180-200

— Marvel Treasury Special: Captain America’s Bicentennial Battles (1976)

Several thoughts:

— There’s no exact release date or price yet, but if the Epic Marvel Podcast reports an Epic Collection is coming, you can count on it. This is their jam.

— The cover has not been released yet, so the Issue #182 cover is a placeholder. Still, I expect the final imagery to be drawn from it.

— The first part of the book is written by Steve Englehart and follows his classic Secret Empire, which is coming out as an Epic Collection in June 2023. Jack Kirby’s return to Cap rounds out the volume, with an assortment of writers in between. Artists also include Sal Buscema and Frank Robbins.

  1. These two stories each deserved their own books rather than being smooshed together
