An EXCLUSIVE SNEAK PEEK at the Dominoed Daredoll…
There are a gazillion fan projects out there but only a handful demand the attention of a wider audience.
One of my all-time favorites is Adrien van Viersen’s wonderful, modernist take on Golden Age Superman. (Click here to check it out. You’ll love it.)
Another terrific one is Batman Meets Godzilla — based on an unproduced 1960s film treatment — which recently debuted online with Issue #1.
It’s the brainchild of Eric Elliott and a coterie of collaborators dubbed Project Batzilla and you can click here for an INSIDE LOOK. (You can also check out the new episode of John S. Drew’s The Batcave Podcast, in which John and I talk to Elliott and one of the series’ artists, Ian Miller. Click here.)
Well, Issue #2 is in production now — and we’ve got your FIRST FULL LOOK at Batgirl doing battle in Tokyo. (We saw Barbara Gordon in the first ish.)
Dig this page by Costa Rican artist Josue Cubero:
I dig Cubero’s style a lot. It’s cartoony, with a touch of manga influence, and yet it also manages to capture Yvonne Craig’s look and body language. (You can follow him on Twitter @ArtCubero and click here for Project Batzilla’s website.)
The more I see of this project, the more I fall in love with it.
And this is just an early taste. Much more to come.
