BACK IN BLACK: MARVEL to Release Slew of Classic Dollar Reprints

EXCLUSIVE: All sorts of clues to the upcoming event King in Black…

Marvel’s got a big ol’ Venom-centric event coming in December — Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman’s King in Black — about the evil Knull’s quest for revenge on Earth.

  1. I’m glad they are bringing back the $1 reprints. Most of these I’ll be picking up multiple times. But, I never understand the dates that show under the cover pixs. They are obviously not the dates they came out. I’d rather know the cover artist names.

    • Those are the dates of the original series’ launch (i.e. Volume 1). Since many titles were relaunched at No. 1 years later (a practice I absolutely HATE) it helps to define which series (volume) the reprint is from.

      • Thanks! That’s as confusing as all get out. Was always hard enough keeping series straight when they took over a numbering like Tales to Astonish or Suspense. I really hate how now they just constantly reboot the numbering. Made it easy for me to give up the habit, at least with new stuff.
