1966 BATMAN AND ROBIN Costumes Sell at Auction for More Than a Half-Million Dollars

You’d have to be as rich as Bruce Wayne to afford it…

Hey, this is nifty. Heritage Auctions’ Comisar Collection sale has come and gone — and guess what: That set of Batman and Robin costumes worn on screen by Adam West and Burt Ward went for $615,000, including buyer’s premium.

Holy Edith Head!

Not just that, a screen-used Batshield prop went for a smashing $100,000. Toldja Batman needed to be rich to do his thing.

Anyway, there were a lot more groovy items that went on the block — some sold for big money, some didn’t sell at all. But click here to check out various items, such as a Frank Gorshin Riddler jacket and vest (that didn’t sell) and a George Reeves Superman top ($150,000), with muscle suit.

Sartorially splendid.
