13 JERRY ROBINSON COVERS That Have Nothing to Do With BATMAN

A BIRTHDAY SALUTE to one of comics’ greats — born 103 years ago, on Jan. 1, 1922…

The late, great Jerry Robinson was one of Gotham City’s architects, co-creating the Joker and Robin, and involved with the development of the Caped Crusader’s world in its earliest stages, first showing up in December 1939’s Detective Comics #36 (to the best of my knowledge).

He eventually moved on to other pastures, including political cartoons, comic strips, commercial art and creators’ rights. There are also a number of comic-book covers out there outside the realm of Batman or DC Comics.

So for a curve ball birthday salute this year, dig 13 JERRY ROBINSON COVERS THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH BATMAN.

  2. Interesting, Atomman’s costume is very similer to that of Catain Atom. Are they related?

  3. Hmmm…that Atoman costume looks mysteriously similar to the that of Firestorm. I believe the Nuclear Man might need to tip his flame to his ancestor.

  4. “Men’s Adventure” 19 makes me pine for a time where Jerry Robinson could let loose with a gritty War comic!
