Saluting the team created by writer Robert Kanigher and artist Ross Andru…
Hey, there’s a new 12-issue Metal Men series starting this week — Wednesday, Oct. 16, to be exact — by DC Comics co-publisher Dan DiDio and penciller Shane Davis.
The creators promise a series that honors the past while looking to the future — and you can click here to read what the creative team has to say.
Meanwhile, it seemed only fitting to put together a 13 COVERS spotlight on the Metal Men’s heyday in the Silver and Bronze Ages. (Silver? Bronze? Get it?)
Groovy.

As a kid I loved the Metal Men mostly because I loved the concept of living robots made of different metals that could change form like Plastic Man. Plus there was the team work and comedy aspects. As an adult I still enjoy them but have to try harder to suspend disbelief and not think about how we are just now barely creating robots that are high functioning, but probably will never have the technology to have robots that are this advanced like the Terminators…hopefully.

This makes me wish that DC would do a nice full color Omnibus hardcover of the entire Metal Men run
