  1. I’m a huge fan of Joe’s pencils. He was very big in my love of the ‘70s JSA. My collection is lacking in one area – original comic art. That said, I do have a 11×17 B/W commission depicting Golden Age BATMAN. I wish I could attach an image. I’d love to have Walt color it and either turn into a slash page or cover. So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Joe!

  2. I love Joe Staton’s artwork. I really wish DC would release an omnibus collection(s) of his and Steve Englehart’s GL/GLC run from the 1980s (and, while they’re at it, release an omnibus of his and Joey Cavalieri’s underrated Huntress series from roughly the same period).

  3. I had the great pleasure of meeting Joe at a New Jersey comic con this summer. Enjoyed some delightful conversations with him, and bought a beautiful print of Batman and Catwoman which Joe signed for my son.

I’d love to see all of his Green Lantern work collected: his long runs with Marv Wolfman and Steve Englehart, and his Guy Gardner solo book. Joe’s Plastic Man stories were charming—and of course his JSA was definitive. Happy birthday to a great artist and gracious gentleman.
