You gotta have buddies if you’re going into battle …
It’s CAPTAIN AMERICA WEEK, celebrating the Star-Spangled Sentinel of Liberty — from yesterday to today, from page to screen.
And no celebration would be complete without our tried and true 13 COVERS! We start with the Golden Age, naturally.
Now, since Civil War is all about friends and frenemies (a term very popular during World War II, didn’t you know), all of the covers feature Cap and his allies, whether they’re with him or against him.
Oh, and be sure you check out the CAPTAIN AMERICA WEEK Index, where you can find other stories — such as a great piece on Steranko’s Cap and an essay by Steve Englehart.
The Index will be updated throughout the week. Click here.
Anyway, let’s go back to the Golden Age, shall we?

You know, a Cap/Submariner crossover would be cool. That’s one of the heroes I would like to see.
You may know, it’s rumored that Lloyd Bridges was considered for a Submariner TV show and they made Sea Hunt instead. Got it straight out of an old Roy Thomas alter-ego from his original run of that fanzine.
