13 COVERS: A ROSS ANDRU Birthday Celebration

FLASH FACT: The late artist was born 92 years ago…

In the past, whenever I’ve posted a 13 COVERS birthday salute to Ross Andru — who was born June 15, 1927, and died in 1993 — I’ve focused on his Spider-Man work. That’s because that’s my favorite.

But the Marvel and DC stalwart was known for much more than that, so this year it’s all about the Scarlet Speedster.

Here are 13 COVERS featuring Ross Andru on The Flash.

Dig it.

  1. Got issue 180 San Cover in a Double Double Comic in the 1970’s. A number of returned issues Bound Together in the UK by Thorpe and Potter the Distributor. Got 180 and 181 with covers in the 1980’s from Sheffield Space Centre Comic Shop

  2. Cool! I have most of those issues but #179 was a key issue introducing Earth-Prime just as The Flash had introduced Earth-2 way back in issue #123.

  3. All of the covers are great, but with it’s eye-popping layout design, the cover to The Flash #187 is, hands-down, the shining crown jewel of that stellar cover collection!
