13 COVERS: A MIKE SEKOWSKY Birthday Celebration

The late artist was born 99 years ago…

Comics stalwart Mike Sekowsky was born 99 years ago on Nov. 19, 1923. He’s best known for his lengthy tenure on Justice League of America in the ’60s — which we covered in last year’s birthday salute — but just as significant in its own way was his 1968-71 run on the revamped, de-powered Wonder Woman.

So dig these 13 COVERS starring the Emma Peel-esque Diana Prince — all inked by Dick Giordano.

Far out.

  2. This isn’t the Wonder Woman we’re all familiar with, but dang it, Mike Sekowsky’s art style for these covers is just too awesome.

  3. I may have recorded my thoughts on all of Sekowsky’s JLA run, but I’ll stand my ground that his BEST work was for this “Wonder Woman” run!
