Everybody loves Dick Sprang.
Sprang, one of the pre-eminent Batman artists of the Golden Age, was born July 28, 1915 — meaning he would have been 101.
His version of Batman was so emblematic of the ’40s and ’50s that it became known widely as the “Dick Sprang style.”
Now, last year on Sprang’s centennial, we ran 13 COVERS from Batman itself (click here) and 13 COVERS from Detective (click here). This year, we’re mixing it up — and including some of his latter-day work, to boot.
Here, then, is our patented 13 COVERS salute!
