13 COVERS: A DICK DILLIN Birthday Celebration

Blackhawk-a-go-go!

The late Dick Dillin, one of DC Comics’s greatest workhorses, was born 94 years ago on Dec. 17, 1928. He’s probably best known for his lengthy run on Justice League of America, but he was also deeply connected to Blackhawk, both at Quality Comics and at DC.

I’m particularly taken with the very ’60s red-jacket era of the team, so dig this exceptionally groovy 13 COVERS birthday salute. (All covers inked by Blackhawk co-creator Chuck Cuidera.)

Hawk-AAA!

  1. Enjoyed all of the Dillin years on Blackhawk, from 1957 onward. It wasn’t until years later that I saw and enjoyed Reed Crandell’s work. Hawk-a-a-a!
