Scott Shaw! has the scoop…

Hey, it’s only fitting that Scott Shaw! has some news for you on SCOTT SHAW! SATURDAYS, beyond his usual, weekly ODDBALL COMICS column.
Dig this: Scott’s among the folks working on a documentary about the beginnings of San Diego Comic-Con. (Scott was one of the co-founders.)
“Pop culture historian Mathew Klickstein and a few of us co-originators of San Diego Comic-Con have been working on a feature-length documentary film, Everyone Is Invited: Welcome to San Diego Comic-Con,” Scott told us. “Produced by Mathew and directed by Arthur Jones of Netflix’s The Antisocial Network, it’ll include tons of heretofore unseen archival video and film, and will present the Comic-Con story as never before — told by those who were there and made it all happen over the past 50 years, along with a few very special guest celebrity stars.

“However, this isn’t authorized by the current Comic-Con International board, which has shunned all our previous presentations,” Scott said. “This is for the San Diego Comic-Con’s originators, by the originators, warts and all. Our history has been ignored for a long time, and we’re taking it back now.”
No date is set yet, but the team is in pre-production, poring through hours of film footage and photos.
