Oh, so nice…
Hey, this is cool. Tucked into Marvel’s May 2026 solicitations, released this week, is a really groovy variant cover for The Amazing Spider-Man #28 by 13th Dimension fave Mike Allred.
Dig this:
It’s a wonderful mashup of Silver/Bronze and Modern styles, with Spidey himself somehow looking both Ditkoish and Romitaesque.
That Mike. He can draw. Love the colors, too, which are almost certainly the work of his wife, Laura Allred.
Here’s the weird thing, though. While image is coded for Issue #28, it’s not listed in the solicitation. Maybe it’s for #29, which mentions a variant cover by “TBA.”
Well, we’ll know soon enough.
Either way, The Amazing Spider-Man #28 is out May 6, 2026, and Issue #29 is out May 20.

Love it! The pose reminds me a of a reverse image of the one used to promote the 1977 TV series/pilot film.
