SUNDAY FUNNIES WITH KERRY CALLEN!

By KERRY CALLEN
Creating visual humor can sometimes be tricky. Ideally, your art will guide the eye so that the “joke” is perceived as intended. If words are involved, their placement is also critical for the best impact.
This past week, I worked on two commissions. One of them is this Superman and Lois Lane piece. The situation was left totally up to me.

I like the fact your eye first takes in the situation before the “punchline” is delivered at the very bottom in a word balloon. Punchlines always work better at the end of a joke!
