The MARVEL World of JACKSON ‘BUTCH’ GUICE

13 COVERS saluting the artist, who has died at the age of 63…

I first discovered Jackson “Butch” Guice’s art on the 1980s post-Crisis Flash series that put Wally West on the road to becoming one of DC’s most popular heroes.

But, as you know, Guice — who has died at the far-too-young age of 63 — had an even more prolific career with Marvel (not to mention other publishers).

So in honor of his career that went from the Bronze Age to well into the 21st century, we are presenting two 13 COVERS galleries — one Marvel (below) and one DC (click here).

Rest in peace.

  3. Such sad news. Looking at this I Hope at some point X-men/Micronauts gets collected since it’s not in the recent Omni.

  4. Including the DR. STRANGE #15 cover, I just remembered learning last year that they got in trouble for that one because it’s pop star Amy Grant’s face and it was not pre-approved usage.

    Godspeed, Mr. Guice.

  5. Sad news. Followed his work almost from the start. Seeing it progress over the years was a joy. Right up to today he was still doing great work! R.I.P. Jackson and condolences to his family and the people close to him.
