EXCLUSIVE: Adventure Comics #247, plus another Action Comics #1, and MORE…

DC Comics has five Facsimile Editions coming in August and you can get the details for two others here and here.
But leading the pack (for a lot of fans) is one of the most requested issues — 1958’s Adventure Comics #247, featuring the first appearance of the Legion of Super-Heroes. There will also be a new edition of the Golden Age-size Action Comics #1, and the previously announced Avengers/JLA #4 and its Alex Ross variant cover.
Dig the solicitation info, which will be formally released by DC later Friday:

Buncha thoughts:

— Adventure Comics #247 is clearly timed to the anticipated new Legion series. That’s still to be announced.
— Because I am a card-carrying, shameless self-promoter, I can’t resist pointing out that we predicted this one for 2026. Not that I’m a genius or anything.
— 1994’s Green Lantern #49 is coming in July. We know that Green Lantern #50 is going to be released, but it’s not scheduled for August.
— I’ve lost track how many times Action Comics #1 has been released as a Facsimile, whether in current or Golden Age size. Clearly, it always sells. Same with Detective Comics #27, also coming again in August.
— As I noted up top, there are more DC Facsimiles coming in August. Links below!
— Obligatory Price Comparison: An unslabbed, original copy of Adventure Comics #247, touted in VG condition, recently sold on eBay for about $1,150.

This one’s long overdue!
Like I mentioned a few days ago, I recently got a stack of 2000’s DC Millennium Editions, which was kind of the proto-facsimile program. Adventure #247 was one of those issues.
It’s remarkable how many DC Millennium Editions still haven’t had a facsimile. (Some might be for good reason–Gen 13 is a defunct title right now.) Here’s what we *haven’t* gotten yet if anyone has an itch for a most wanted list.
Adventure Comics #61 (1st Starman)
All Star Comics #8 (1st Wonder Woman)
All-Star Western #10 (1st Jonah Hex)
Detective Comics #225 (1st Martian Manhunter)
Detective Comics #327
Detective Comics #395
Gen13 #1
Green Lantern #76
Hellblazer #1
House of Mystery #1
JLA #1
Justice League (1986) #1
Kingdom Come #1
More Fun Comics #101 (1st Superboy)
Mysterious Suspense #1 (1st Question)
Plop! #1
Preacher #1
Sensation Comics #1
The Shadow #1 (this won’t happen)
Showcase #9
Spirit #1 (this also probably won’t happen)
Superboy #1
Superman #76
Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen #1
Watchmen #1
WildC.A.T.S: Covert Action Teams #1
World’s Finest Comics #71
Young Romance Comics #1

About time they did a Legion facsimile. I hope there are more to come.
Action #1: I have the Superman Day 2025 golden age one, but would buy it again if the artwork/pages were scaled properly instead of “modern age artwork on golden age-size pages”.
