Coming to DC High Volume: Batman in November…

Do you listen to the DC High Volume: Batman podcast? The official program where they adapt various Bat-classics as dramas? You should. They’ve done Batman: Year One, The Long Halloween and Dark Victory, and they’re first rate.
Well, they’ve got a ton more coming this year and into 2026 — most notably, Batman: The Gauntlet, which will adapt 1997’s superb Batman Chronicles: The Gauntlet one-shot that gave us the best Robin story ever, by Bruce Canwell, Lee Weeks and Matt Hollingsworth.

Not just that, there’ll be adaptations of Batman: Ego (in two parts), with Chapter 1 releasing Oct. 29 and Chapter 2 on Nov. 5; the six-part Nightwing: Year One (beginning Nov. 19); the two-part Batman: The Killing Joke (Dec. 31 and Jan. 7, 2026); and Oracle: Year One from Batman: Chronicles #5, (Jan. 14).
The Gauntlet, the story of Dick Grayson’s first costumed mission — it probably should have been called “Robin: Day One” — will bow Nov. 12. The eps post every Wednesday.

By the way, it’s worth noting that Dick will be played by Batman Beyond’s Will Friedle in Nightwing: Year One.
If you trace the theme, High Volume is basically following the loose Bat-continuity established in the ’80s and ’90s. The stories’ shared sensibilities make for an audio-drama goldmine.

If, like me, you’re a commuter, it’s a great way to soak up some comics after a long, hard day at the office.
