Limited Collectors’ Edition C-51 is one for the ages…
—
UPDATED 7/25/23: On Saturday, we ran a piece about the upcoming Neal Adams Vault Vol. 1 Treasury Edition, a gorgeous collection of the master’s creator-owned work. It’s essential for Adams fans everywhere. But it also got me thinking about Limited Collectors’ Edition #C-51 and just how grand it is to see Adams’ work in such an oversize fashion. This first ran in 2016 but it certainly holds up — though it’s worth noting that TreasuryCast has now reached 83 episodes! Dig it. — Dan

LCE C-51 is one of the greatest treasury editions ever produced. It reprinted Batman #232, #242, #243 and #244 — the heart of the original Ra’s al Ghul saga from the early ’70s — by Denny O’Neil, Neal Adams, Irv Novick and Dick Giordano.
The story is majestic and beautiful and epic and all the things that made it perfect for an oversize edition.
Well 13th Dimension contributor Rob Kelly — he of the thousand podcasts — has a new show called TreasuryCast, spotlighting these great tabloid editions of yore, and I was overjoyed to be his guest to discuss this very issue.
I tell you, it was one of the best 50 or so minutes I’ve ever spent talking about one of my favorite stories. You’ll dig it too, I promise.
So click here for a listen. (Scroll down for the play button.) You can also click here. It’s also available on iTunes.
Oh, and in case you missed it, Rob and I talked about another great Limited Collectors’ Edition — C-37, which highlighted Batman’s villains. Click here!

LOVED this as a kid, so much so that I bought a copy for my son on eBay. Which he has yet to read, almost two years later. These kids today!
