Superman ’78 #3 is out in October and the Man of Steel’s movie-inspired adventures will be in full swing.

Looks like Brainiac’s got the upper hand — and Superman is set for a meeting with Jor-El and Lara. And they don’t look like holograms either.

Dig this official description released Friday as part of DC’s latest solicitations…

A few thoughts:

— DC also released Bryan Hitch’s (unlettered) variant cover for Superman ’78 #2 (above). Looks mighty hot inside the San Andreas Fault. But then it always did.

— Props to DC for their blurbs on the Superman ’78 and Batman ’89 solicitations so far. They tease a bit but give so little that reading the comics will really be a fresh experience — which is exactly what you want. I know that’s a weird compliment to make but there you have it.
