AVENGERS AND X-MEN AT 60: Hey, can you pass the mustard…?

Yo, it’s the second weekly installment of SUNDAY FUNNIES With Kerry Callen, and boy what timing! This just happens to be the 60th anniversary of both The Avengers #1 and The X-Men #1, which were released July 2, 1963.

So, here’s Kerry with a couple of can’t-miss celebrations — a mutant wiener roast and an Avengers villain having a frustrating evening out.

    • They are! And here’s Kerry’s comment on the matter: “Yes, I know that Cyclops’ eye beams are concussion blasts not heat-based, but I drew what the person requested. Friction can cause heat, btw.” See? We’re a full-service website!

  2. The X-Men art was a commissioned piece. I drew what was requested. Let’s just say this scene took place in a multiverse reality.
