FRANCO’S FREE-FOR-ALL FRIDAYS!
By FRANCO
Something a bit more self serving this week if you would be so kind as to indulge me:
We just launched our new Kickstarter: Skelly & Ghost, written with Alex Gianinni and Nicolas Aureliani, and artwork by me.
We launched it for the fall spooky season. It’s a heartwarming tale of two friends on a quest to find something they’ve lost. Along the way they make a new friend and share their thoughts and feelings about Halloween and being dead. It’s funny and thoughtful and not so much spooky (although they are all mostly dead) but they have their existential moments when waxing philosophical.
As with every Kickstarter I do there’s something I haven’t done before. This time it’s combining photographs we took ourselves as the backgrounds. When I was a kid, I saw these photo comics (fumettis) and thought “Those aren’t comics! They need cartoon characters in them!”
That always stuck in my brain. So I decided to make my own version of photo comics. And here we are!
I hope you give it a look and, if you’re so inclined, help make the book a reality. We had fun making it!
