A tip of the cape to Jack Burnley…

In case you’ve been unaware, artist Ryan Sook is doing a run of variant covers for Action Comics’ Lex Luthor: Year One arc by Mark Waid and Patricio Delpeche — each homaging (or parodying, if you prefer) a classic Superman cover of the past.
Lex is, after all, the hero of his own story.

Then there’s December 9’s Issue #1105, which is a variation on 2004’s Superman #204, by Jim Lee and Scott Williams:

But hold on, we’re not done!
Here’s Issue #1104, now with period-mimicking trade dress:

Lex, you are a card.
