REVEALED! November’s BATMAN/DEADPOOL #1 Boasts Terrific Team-Ups — and 20 COVERS

Nightwing and Laura Kinney! Constantine and Dr. Strange! Harley Quinn vs. the Hulk!

DC on Thursday revealed new details for November’s inter-company blockbuster-in-waiting Batman/Deadpool #1, including the lineup of backup stories and a whopping 20 covers from an all-star squadron of artists such as Bill Sienkiewicz, Frank Quitely and Ryan Sook.

Main Dan Mora cover

In addition to the lead story by Grant Morrison and Dan Mora, we’re getting Nightwing and Laura Kinney Wolverine, by the great Nightwing team of Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo; Harley Quinn vs. the Hulk, by Mariko Tamaki and Amanda Conner; Static and Ms. Marvel, by G. Willow Wilson and Denys Cowan; and, Constantine and Doctor Strange, by Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV, Joshua Williamson and Hayden Sherman.

DC says the main story “launches a reality-bending saga that’s equal parts cosmic horror, slapstick noir, and metafictional therapy session. It’s the kind of comic book that knows it’s a comic book, revels in being a comic book, weaponizes its comic bookiness—and dares you to keep reading anyway!”

Yeah, that sounds like Grant Morrison.

  1. “The Joker vs. Doctor Doom” is one of those things that should result in the Joker being dead in under a minute, except that probably won’t happen.

I’m generally not a fan of variant covers, but these two crossovers are going to punch me in the wallet.

  2. I’d rather see a Black Cat/Catwoman cover than Emma Frost.

  3. There is … a distinct lack of Superman in these variant covers and backups? Indicative of the next crossover to come, or something to do with dueling movies in theaters or something?

    • According to a friend of mine with solid Intel, Superman and Fantastic Four was the rumored first crossover. However, they figured the Superman movie would have gone the way the way of the Snyder films and that Fantastic Four was going to embarrass Superman at the Box office. So they decided this crossover was the safer bet.
