RED BATMAN Leads DC Comics McFARLANE TOYS Variant Covers in November

EXCLUSIVE: This Red Batman thing is a thing. PLUS: Red Hood, BTAS and MORE!

DC this month is, as you know, publishing a run of Super Powers variant covers celebrating the toy line’s 40th anniversary. We’ve gone to town on it with stories on each one not just because we dig them — we do — but also because we’re pounding the drum to get McFarlane Toys to actually make these since they produce the modern equivalent of the figures. (And they’re not saying no.)

Now, McFarlane is also getting a lot of attention around these parts because its next wave of Batman ’66 figures includes Red Batman — aka the Adam West Batman featured in Italian movie posters and whatnot.

Well, this is a case of two great tastes tasting great together, because DC and McFarlane are combining forces in November with a run of variants that feature their toys — and Red Batman is one of them.

Dig these:

BATMAN #155 — On Sale 11/6/24

BATMAN #156 — On Sale 11/20/24

I love that there even appears to be a movie poster border. Pix are of other figs in the wave.

DETECTIVE COMICS #1091 — On Sale 11/27/24

NIGHTWING #120 — On Sale 11/27/24

BATMAN/SUPERMAN: WORLD’S FINEST #33 — On Sale 11/20/24

A few thoughts:

— There will be eight variants in all, but the following covers are not yet available: Action Comics #1076, Titans #17 and Batman and Robin #15. The five above will be unveiled formally by DC later Friday.

— Prices vary, but these are either $4.99 and $5.99.

— DC and McFarlane have done this sort of thing before. These images are from McFarlane ads and have been seen already — except Red Batman. This, fans, is your EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK.
