NOTHING ENDS, ROBIN: The Great BATMAN-DR. MANHATTAN Mash-Up You Always Wanted

SUNDAY FUNNIES WITH KERRY CALLEN!

“It is Nov. 24, 1959. I am transformed into a zebra. Robin says I have become a menace.”

“It is Nov. 14, 2025. I am… ‘myself’ again. Batman Hattan, I am called. Robin has run off. A boy named Dennis says I have become a menace.”

“I am also not anatomically correct.”

Kerry had a field day with this one, huh?

“I never know what kind of commission request I will receive,” he sez. “A lot of them are really imaginative! On this particular piece, J. Scott Stewart wanted Batman and Dr. Manhattan (from Watchmen) combined into one character, Batman Hattan!

“He requested I do a riff on the Detective Comics #275 cover, originally drawn by Sheldon Moldoff. And here’s Dr. Manhattan, by Dave Gibbons, in all his glory. (Well, not ALL. I added his black trunks.)

“The commission also included putting Dennis the Menace in the foreground, playing up the whole ‘menace’ thing. J. Scott even sent a quick rough, showing what he had in mind. People will occasionally do that, but I don’t think I’ve ever shared one, until now:

Fun stuff.

    • Good solution. But, I figured since His cowl/cape were existing, it would apply to pants too.

  3. I think I would have preferred seeing ol’ J. Jonah Jameson warning people. Now that man knows a menace when he sees one.
