Whether it’s brightest day, or blackest night…
We could argue until the Oans come home about who the greatest Green Lantern Hal Jordan artist was (or is). For my money — big surprise — it’s Neal Adams. That said, I would seriously entertain arguments for Jordan’s co-creator Gil Kane or Darwyn Cooke, with Mike Grell, Joe Staton, Dave Gibbons and Ivan Reis part of the conversation.
But when it comes down to it, I don’t think anyone has ever made GL look as cool.
Just dig this original illustration:
And you can own this, too. The 11″ x 14″ piece, titled The Vow and colored by Neal’s daughter Zeea, is up for sale now at the Neal Adams Store for $2,400.
Green is a Christmas color, after all…

I totally agree. Neal Adams drew the best Green Lantern as well as Batman and many others.

I love Neal Adams’ work on Green Lantern, but I believe the late M.D. “Doc” Bright belongs on the short list of great GL artists, too!

What a wonderful Hal Jordan pinup this is. Neal Adams drew him well. Props to his daughter Zeea for coloring over Hal here.
