Don’t despair just yet…
The indispensible website Mike’s Amazing World of Comics has been down for about a week, with users getting a startling message that reads: “Sorry, you have been blocked.”
The situation has sent fans of comics history — readers like you, in other words — into a bit of a tizzy, and rightly so. Mike’s Amazing World is a treasure trove of information, credits, release dates, and on and on and on. We use it daily — along with the similarly essential Grand Comics Database — and it plays a central role in our research for such features as RETRO HOT PICKS and BRONZE AGE BONANZA.
The frustrating message
The folks who run the website, which was founded by Mike Voiles, aren’t terribly communicative, but a source familiar with the situation told us that it’s just temporarily offline while they deal with the PHP havoc that smashed across the internet last week.
The operators plan to have the site up and running soon.
If we find out more, we’ll tell you. Otherwise, just keep your eyes out and your fingers crossed.

So it wasn’t just me? Hope it comes back soon, as I’m used to visiting several times a week! Thanks to the site runners for continuing Mike’s wonderful work!
