MARVEL to Release Complete SECRET WARS as Monthly Facsimile Editions — Plus a Year’s Worth of 1984 AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

An interesting turn…

Over the last couple of days, we’ve told you that in January, Marvel would be releasing Facsimile Editions of 1984’s Secret Wars #1 and The Amazing Spider-Man #252, which featured the debut of the famed black suit, in January.

Turns out, that’s just the start. The entire Secret Wars 12-part series will be reissued monthly as Facsimile Editions in 2024 — and so will the concurrent Amazing Spider-Man issues, starting with #252.

These special Facsimile Editions will also be available with new variant covers and foil variant covers, Marvel says.

If you want the complete solicitations, click here for Secret Wars #1 and click here for Amazing Spider-Man #252.

That’s a bold move, folks. And I am all in. Facsimile Editions have truly arrived.

  1. I will pick up a few of these. What I would like is the Juggernaut issues by Stern / JRJR

  2. The ones with “new variant covers” won’t qualify as true facsimiles since they’re replacing the original covers.

  3. I thought Secret Wars was goofy fun. Not the best, but certainly not the worst of these types of series. Now if you want to say something was truly awful, let’s talk Secret Wars II…Bloody hell, indeed!

  4. It’s time to just release the Facsimile Editions of the Bronze Age. Just re-do the best time to be a comic fan and re-release them all! The only $$ I spend on comics anymore, is on high priced originals and Facsimile Editions (2-3 copies each). Throw in the occasional Omnibus that hits a reasonable price range of $50-$75 and I’m spending more now (taking inflation into account) then ever.

    • 100 percent Agreed!! I would lap up monthly releases of the classics ( and be able to pick up the issues I missed as a kid ). SECRET WARS and ASM, I’ll be picking up ALL of them ( not the ones with any modern variant covers mind you ).
