Part of a new publishing partnership…

Dark Horse and Marvel on Tuesday announced a multiyear deal to publish a series of art books — including the launch of Bullpen Books, a new line of deluxe editions spotlighting the work of the House of Ideas’ all-time greats.

First out of the gate? The Art of The Amazing Spider-Man by John Romita, due this fall. The 200-page, oversize hardcover — 10” x 14” — will feature essays on Romita’s work, covers, and original art scans from the Marvel archives. It lists for $59.99 and is due through online retailers Oct. 15, 2024, and at comics shops Oct. 16.

The publishing agreement will go well past this, and include “a range of art books that focus on new video games, artist monographs highlighting legacy Marvel talent, typography and graphic design, and retrospectives celebrating the history of Marvel collectibles,” the companies said in a statement.

More details are expected soon. Previously, Dark Horse announced two art books tied to the Marvel’s Spider-Man video game franchise, including The Art of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (and a Deluxe Edition) and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales—The Poster Collection.
