There will be an opening reception and lecture for Battling Boy at Society of Illustrators in NYC on October 11th, featuring a selection of works from Paul Pope’s latest book. Pope said the book came out of his attempt to pitch a Kamandi project to DC Comics a while back. When they passed, he created his own boy hero. 
Here’s the details: Lecture 6:00 – 7:30pm Author/illustrator Paul Pope will discuss his career and work. A master of gritty sci-fi epics, Paul Pope is known for genre-bending storytelling and frenetic, stylish artwork. The lecture will be followed by a cocktail reception and book signing.
