And I don’t even read Thor…
You know what’s frustrating and kinda cool at the same time? The way publishers unveil their variant covers. See, sometimes they’re shown when solicitations are released, but just as routinely, they’re not — and that gets under my skin. They just pop up when they pop up.
That said, at any given time, I might get a really nice surprise when I’m not looking for one — like Jorge Fornes’ variant for this week’s Thor #802, on sale Wednesday from Marvel:
By Odin’s beard, that is magnificent — a glorious homage to Jack Kirby and the Silver Age. It just might be the prettiest cover I’ve seen this year and I’m not even a Thor guy.
Here it is with the final trade dress.
Don’t you just love comics?
