JLA/AVENGERS: MARVEL and DC Set Dates for All Four FACSIMILE EDITIONS

Mark your calendars…

Last week’s announcement that DC and Marvel will team-up to re-release 2003-04’s JLA/Avengers, by Kurt Busiek and George Perez, as four Facsimile Editions rocked the comics world.

Now, we have new details — the date each issue will be released.

We already knew that Issue #1 would be out May 27, 2026

… but here are the other dates you should mark on the calendar:

Issue #2: June 24, 2026

Issue #3: July 22, 2026

Issue #4: Aug. 26, 2026

The first issue is priced at $5.99. Presumably, the others will be the same. The issues will also feature all-new variant covers, with the first by Ryan Stegman.

  3. Somebody needs to declare 2026 the “Year of the Facsimile” between this and all the 1986 gold we’re getting from DC. (Marvel, looking at you with your noticeably declining facsimile program.)

If we can get the rest of Man of Steel plus all of Watchmen, hoo, this will be a great year.

  4. Current facsimile count through August 2026 (does not include subsequent reprintings; joint-company crossovers are counted with the publisher who releases them):

DC: 157 (slight cheat in that it includes the Treasury-sized Untold Legend of the Batman and the “faux-simile” Batman #428)
    Marvel: 161
