SDCC ’25: A selection of groovy retro threads at San Diego Comic-Con…

DC Comics on Friday announced its plans for San Diego Comic-Con, including the launch of a decade-long celebration building to the company’s 100th anniversary, panels, activations, a fascinating expansion of its Giant-Size 11″ x 17″ line — and merch!

There will a pretty big selection across the board (the images above are but a fraction) but I have my eye on a couple of retro offerings right in the 13th Dimension wheelhouse. Or at least mine: a Batman T-shirt and a Superman T-shirt that put a modern flourish on 1940’s Batman #1 and 1939’s Superman #1:

I’m going to San Diego this year — I’m the fortunate guy who gets to represent the DC Comics Style Guide at the Eisners! — and I will definitely be picking up the Batman shirt. (I love the color orange. I even have an orange car!)
The Superman shirt is super ginchy but that’ll be an of-the-moment decision. There’s also this DC history hoodie. It’s not my personal cuppa but it may be your kinda thang:

I’m also interested in this new Batman logo shirt. It’s not a retro pitch or anything. I just like it — and I love yellow shirts too!

Prices have yet to be released.
2025 San Diego Comic-Con runs July 24-27. (Wednesday night, July 23, is Preview Night.)
