Illustrated Atlas of the MARVEL UNIVERSE Coming This Fall

An INSIDE LOOK at Marvel Universe: Map by Map, where you can find your way around Asgard, the Savage Land, Krakoa — and MORE…

When reading about fictional worlds and realms, there are few extras more compelling than detailed maps that show you where A is relative to B and how far away each is from C.

Hey, the entire, ever-changing Game of Thrones opening-credits sequence was devoted to this very notion:

Well, if you want to make your way around the Krakoas, Atlantises and, yes, Manhattans of your mind, DK has the book for you this fall: Marvel Universe: Map by Map — An Atlas From Asgard to Wakanda, by James Hill and Nick Jones.

The 240-page, lushly illustrated hardcover is basically a history of the Marvel Universe told through cartography, classic comics images and a sort-of travelogue.

In a way, it’s a colorful, modern version of The Atlas of the DC Universe that was produced by our pal Paul Kupperberg for Mayfair Games in the 1980s.

Dig the sample pages posted to DK’s website:

This looks like the kind of book where you could lose yourself for hours — because you know you’ll be able to find your way back. It’s due Nov. 9 and lists for $45.
