HOT PICKS! On Sale This Week!

Scott and Dan pick the comics they’re most looking forward to…

Dan Greenfield, editor, 13th Dimension

Batman/Superman: World’s Finest #49, DC. Last issue’s first part of this Crime Syndicate two-parter was a kick. Nice art by Marcus To, too. Wouldn’t mind if he stuck around.

Detective Comics #576 Facsimile Edition. Hey, it’s Todd McFarlane’s 65th birthday today. Happy birthday, Todd.

Wonder Woman #1 Facsimile Edition, DC. In Golden Age size, joining previous, similar DC releases such as Action Comics #1, Superman #1, Detective Comics #27 and Batman #1.

Phoenix: The Untold Story #1 Facsimile Edition, Marvel. Reprinting the 1983 one-shot in which Chris Claremont, John Byrne and Terry Austin provided readers with the original ending of the Dark Phoenix Saga, where Jean Grey survived. This ish will essentially be a jumping-on point for Byrne’s upcoming three-volume graphic novel X-Men: Elsewhen, published through Abrams ComicArts under license from Marvel. That hardcover series picks up with Jean alive. The first volume is due in June 2026.

Back Issue #166, TwoMorrows. The Partner Up Issue!, headlined by Superman and Lois Lane. Also a nice article on Batman and Alfred.

Scott Tipton, contributor-at-large, 13th Dimension

Tom Strong Compendium Two, DC. The most overlooked of Alan Moore’s works, in my humble opinion. There’s a charm and innocence to Tom Strong that is fairly unique.

Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories – Grievous, Dark Horse. A General Grievous solo adventure? The graphic novel I never knew I needed.

Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe, Marvel. No excuses. The heart wants what it wants. Collects last year’s miniseries by writer Gerry Duggan and a number of artists, primarily Javier Garron and Paco Medina.
